Vol. 445 No. 7

Written Answers. - Swords New Health Centre.

Question:

48 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for Health his views on the need for a new health centre in Swords, County Dublin; if he has made the necessary finance available for the construction of this centre; and when a start can be expected on the centre. [935/94]

Ray Burke

Question:

145 Mr. R. Burke asked the Minister for Health the present position in relation to the urgently-needed new health centre for Swords, County Dublin. [557/94]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 48 and 145 together.

The current position is that the schedule of accommodation for the new centre has been completed. Its location is currently being considered by the Eastern Health Board and is expected to be finalised within the next few weeks. The appointment of a design team will then proceed. After preparation of the plans, tenders will be sought and work will commence as soon as possible.

The funding arrangements have been agreed with the Eastern Health Board in respect of this and other capital projects in their area.
