Vol. 446 No. 3

Written Answers. - Army Pension.

Michael Noonan

Question:

213 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Defence if the level of a disability pension awarded to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick will be increased as the person now appears to be totally disabled. [2127/94]

The person in question is in receipt of a final disability pension under the Army Pensions Acts based on a degree of disablement of 80 per cent as assessed by the Army Pensions Board, which is the statutory body appointed under those Acts to adjudicate on such cases. His case may be reviewed only if he furnishes sufficient medical evidence to show that the degree of his disablement has increased to not less than 90 per cent. If this person is in a position to provide such medical evidence he should forward it to the Department and I will have it considered.
