Vol. 446 No. 3

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Items Nos. 11, 12, 13, 5, 6, 2 and 1. It is also proposed, notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders, that the proceedings on the Second and Remaining Stages of No. 11 if not previously concluded shall be brought to a conclusion at 7 p.m. by one question which shall be put from the Chair and which shall, in relation to amendments, include only those set down or accepted by a Minister or Minister of State. Private Members' Business shall be No. 27, motion No. 12.

Are the proposals for dealing with No. 11 agreed? Agreed.

Arising from the Whips' meeting last week it was agreed to put the Courts and Court Officers Bill published last Friday on the Order of Business. I put the Government on notice that arising from interest in this Bill and the broad range and extent of the Bill, it would be preferable if it was not reached this week. I know it is backup business for two other Bills and may not be reached in the ordinary way.
