Vol. 446 No. 3

Written Answers. - Eligibility for Extensification Premium.

Michael Creed

Question:

240 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason his Department is refusing to pay an extensification premium to a person (details supplied) in County Cork whose stocking levels and acreage indicates that he qualifies for same. [2078/94]

The person named was requested in 1993 and 1994 by my Department to submit the cattle identity card of the one animal applied on under the January-February 1993 special beef premium scheme but has not yet done so. My Department now proposes to regard that application as invalid, to calculate the extensification premium due on foot of the suckler cow premium application lodged in June 1993 and to pay the premium due within a fortnight.
