Vol. 446 No. 3

Written Answers. - Hospital Handicap Services.

Frances Fitzgerald

Question:

266 Ms F. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health the steps, if any, he will take to ensure that a person (details attached) in Dublin 4 who has been allocated a place in Dunmore House and who is at present unable to avail of this opportunity due to lack of transport, will be provided with the necessary transport. [1977/94]

Responsibility for the provision of services for persons with a mental handicap, including transport, in the Eastern Health Board area is primarily a matter for the Eastern Health Board. Services at Dunmore House are provided by the St. John of God Brothers.

I have asked the Board and the Order to review their transport arrangements and I will inform the Deputy of any developments in this matter.
