Vol. 446 No. 3

Written Answers. - Domiciliary Care Allowance.

Frances Fitzgerald

Question:

268 Ms F. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health the reason a person (details supplied) in County Dublin who applied for domiciliary care allowance whose application was approved in November 1993, and who was granted the allowance in September 1994, has been informed that arrears will only be paid in stages; and if such delays and the manner in which the arrears are to be paid, are customary. [2012/94]

Payment of domicilary care allowance in any individual case is a matter for the health board concerned. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer, Eastern Health Board with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
