Vol. 446 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Kerry School Repairs.

John O'Leary

Question:

302 Mr. O'Leary asked the Minister for Education if she will increase the grant made available for the repair and improvement to a school (details supplied) in County Kerry in view of the fact that the income of the majority of the parents concerned is mainly social welfare payments; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2084/94]

My Department has approved grant-aid of 85 per cent of cost in this case, which is the maximum allowable to the school in question. The school is not designated as disadvantaged and, therefore, does not qualify for a higher grant rate.
