304 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Education the plans, if any, she has for additional remedial teachers subsequent to the 100 remedial posts already allocated to national schools in September 1994; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2205/94]
The additional appointments to which the Deputy refers brought the total number of remedial teachers now in place in the primary sector to 1,133.
I will be keeping the question of further such appointments under regular review as part of a broader commitment to provide a substantial number of additional remedial teachers over the coming years.
