Vol. 446 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

151 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason headage grants have not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway. [2278/94]

The person named is not the registered owner of the herdnumber quoted.

However the person named has been paid his 1993 sheep headage grant, his 1993 ewe premium, his 1993 cattle headage grant and his 1993 January and June special beef premium under herd-number G287133. His 1993 suckler cow premium is now being processed and will be paid shortly along with his extensification premium.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

152 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a suckler grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2281/94]

The person named is not the registered owner of the herdnumber quoted. However, the person registered as owner under that herdnumber was paid an advance payment of £759.26 on 29 November 1993 under the June 1993 suckler cow premium scheme in respect of 16 animals and was paid the balance of £506.18 on 24 April 1994.

His application under the June 1994 suckler cow premium scheme is being processed at present and, if found in order, payment will issue as soon as possible. Under EU rules payments under the 1994 suckler cow premium scheme cannot commence before 1 November and even then payments are limited to 60 per cent advances.
