Vol. 446 No. 5

Written Answers. - National Lottery Funding.

Ivor Callely

Question:

37 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the frustration of many voluntary, sporting and community organisations with regard to the availability of the next amenity and recreational national lottery grants; his views on whether a time schedule should be in place; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2272/94]

Paul Bradford

Question:

115 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for the Environment if national lottery funding by way of the amenity grant scheme will be allocated by his Department in 1995; if so, the application procedure which will have to be followed by interested groups; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2378/94]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 37, and 115 together.

There is no provision in my Department's Vote for 1994 for grants for amenities/recreational facilities, nor any current scheme under which allocations could be made by me to projects of an amenity or recreational nature. With regard to next year, it is a matter for the Government to decide, in the context of the budget, on the allocation of National Lottery resources.
