Vol. 446 No. 5

Written Answers. - Adare (Limerick) Respite Centre.

Michael Noonan

Question:

64 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for the Environment the reason he has refused a grant to the Limerick Branch of the Alzheimer's Society of Ireland in respect of their respite centre at Adare, County Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [196/94]

My Department has not received an application for approved status for this body in connection with the schemes of assistance for projects by voluntary housing bodies. Neither has Limerick County Council — who administer the schemes — made application to the Department for funding for any project being undertaken by the body. In any event, funding is not provided under any of my Department's schemes for respite centres or similar type care centres.
