The person named applied in June 1993 under the suckler cow scheme for premium on ten cows. On 30 September 1993 he withdrew this application and lodged an application in November 1993 under the suckler scheme for premium on 12 cows. This resulted in some complication in the processing of the case. However, payment of the balance of the suckler cow grant of £474.54 was made on 28 October 1994. The extensification premium of £316.32 due on foot of the 12 suckler cows was also paid on 28 October 1994.

Question:163 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim will be paid their suckler cow premium. [2689/94]
The person named applied for suckler cow premium on ten cows in 1993. As he had established a quota of seven premium rights based on the number of eligible cows he applied on in the reference year 1992, he could be paid only on this number of cows. He was paid an advance of £332.18 on 27 November 1993 on foot of this application and the balance of £221.45 on 30 June 1994. There is no record of an application by him for additional quota rights from the national reserve.

The application for payment of grant in this case under the control of farm pollution scheme was received in my Department on 15 October 1994. Claims are checked and processed in order of receipt. If this claim is in order payment should issue in the next three-four weeks.

Question:166 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when beef premium payments due in 1994 will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford. [2710/94]
EU regulations preclude payment of special beef premium before 1 November of the year of application. The application of the person named under the February 1994 special beef premium scheme is being processed at present and if found in order a 60 per cent advance will issue shortly.
