Vol. 446 No. 6

Regional Technical Colleges (Amendment) Bill, 1994: Instruction to Select Committee.

I move:

That it be an instruction to the Select Committee on Social Affairs in the case of the Regional Technical Colleges (Amendment) Bill, 1994, that it has power to make provision in the Bill—

(a) for the appointment of a Commission to carry out such and so many of the functions of any or all of the governing body, the chairman or the Director of a college (being a college to which the Regional Technical Colleges Act, 1992, applies) as the Minister for Education may determine and to provide for related matters, and

(b) for the amendment of section 9 of the Regional Technical Colleges Act, 1992, to enable the Minister for Education to make an appointment to the office of Director on a temporary basis.

Question put and agreed to.
