Vol. 446 No. 6

Written Answers. - Reinstatement of Civil Servant.

Question:

87 Mr. Gallagher asked the Minister for Finance if he will re-engage a person (details supplied) who had previously retired on medical grounds in the civil service at Tullamore, County Offaly, in view of the fact that the person concerned was examined by an appropriate medical officer earlier this year. [2630/94]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that they are not yet in a position to determine whether the person concerned may be reinstated following his retirement on grounds of illhealth on 11 April 1992. The Revenue Commissioners will consult further with the chief medical officer concerning a determination on this matter.

I am also informed that the Revenue Commissioners in any event have no posts in the grade of clerical assistant in their office in Tullamore.
