Dublin Institute of Technology (Amendment) Bill, 1994: Instruction to Select Committee.

I move:

That it be an instruction to the Select Committee on Social Affairs in the case of the Dublin Institute of Technology (Amendment) Bill, 1994, that it has power to make provision in the Bill—

(a) for the appointment of a commission to carry out such and so many of the functions of any or all of the Governing Body, the Chairman or the President of the Dublin Institute of Technology as the Minister for Education may determine and to provide for related matters, and

(b) for the amendment of the section 9 of the Dublin Institute of Technology Act, 1992, to enable the Minister for Education to make an appointment to the office of President on a temporary basis.
