Vol. 446 No. 6

Written Answers. - Coastal Protection Scheme.

Liz McManus

Question:

145 Ms McManus asked the Minister for the Marine when the coastal protection scheme for Bray, County Wicklow, which was promised by his Department before the local elections will be started. [2512/94]

Preparatory work for a coastal protection scheme at Bray, County Wicklow will commence within the next few weeks. It is intended to carry out hydrographic and beach profiling surveys, additional sampling at the Codling Bank to confirm and quantify beach nourishment material and a photo realistic simulation. The results of these should be available and assessed by January 1995. At that stage further consultations on the scheme details will be held with Bray UDC and Wicklow County Council. It is expected that the physical construction works will commence in late spring 1995.
