184 Mr. E. Byrne asked the Minister for Education if an application has been received by her Department for financial assistance under the recreational facilities scheme on behalf of the Perrystown Manor Estate who have plans to further develop their premises; the stage their request is currently at in the application process; and when an acknowledgement agreeing to fund their project can be expected. My Department received an application for financial assistance under the recreational facilities scheme from Perrystown Manor Estate.

In excess of 1,400 applications nationally were received under this scheme. In view of the limit on the funds available for the scheme this year it was possible to assist only a proportion of the projects.

My Department advised the promoters of the Perrystown project in September, 1994 that their application was not successful this year. A grant allocation will be considered in the event of funds being made available for the scheme in 1995.
