264 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if a person (details supplied) in County Mayo who applied for grant-aid towards the cost of installation of electricity is to be granted this aid. [3193/94]
The ESB has advised that an application for grant-aid under the farm electrification grants scheme was received in their offices from the person named. This application was not forwarded to my Department for consideration as the supply of electricity had already been put in place.
Under the terms of the scheme, grant-aid is not awarded where the work on the provision of supply begins before a decision is reached on an applicant's eligibility.
