Vol. 447 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Dublin Hospital Staffing.

Frances Fitzgerald

Question:

310 Ms F. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health if he has satisfied himself that the current staffing levels in Cherry Orchard Hospital, Dublin 10, are appropriate in view of the demands being made on the hospital. [3463/94]

The provision, organisation and management of services at Cherry Orchard Hospital are a matter for the Eastern Health Board in the first instance.

The identification of priorities in respect of service and personnel needs at Cherry Orchard Hospital, within the context of the overall financial resources available, is thus a matter for the board.

The board has indicated that the nursing and medical management of the Hospital are satisfied that the current staffing levels at the Hospital are appropriate for its present needs notwithstanding the demands being made.
Staffing levels will continue to be mentioned and reviewed in line with any changing needs or developments in the hospital.
