Vol. 447 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Condition of Dublin School.

Jim Mitchell

Question:

326 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Education the reason the classrooms for a school (details supplied) in Dublin 7 have not yet been provided; if they will be provided within the next few weeks; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2996/94]

Tony Gregory

Question:

351 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the condition of the pre-fabs at John Bosco national school, Navan Road, Dublin 7; if she has received representations for their replacement; and if so, her response to such requests. [3228/94]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 326 and 351 together.

My Department has approved the provision of three prefabricated classrooms at the schools in question to cater for increased enrolments. Planning permission has been received from the Local Authority, but a Fire Safety Certificate, required in accordance with the fire safety regulations of the Building Control Act, 1990, is still awaited. Subject to receipt of this certificate, the Department will be in a position to invite tenders for the project.
