It would not be appropriate for me to comment publicly on an individual application made under section 5 of the Betting Act, 1931 for a certificate of fitness to hold a bookmaker's licence. I am, however, aware of the circumstances which have given rise to the Deputy's question and I will have regard to them when making my decision on the application.
