Question:

147 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if EU Directive 79/113/EEC has been transposed into Irish law; if so, when this took place and the name of the Act or statutory instrument giving effect to it; and if not, the plans, if any, he has for this Directive to be transposed. [3061/94]

The following Regulations transposed into Irish law EU Directives on noise levels of specific construction plant and equipment including the relevant provisions of Directive 79/113/EEC:

1. European Communities (Construction Plan and Equipment) (Permissible Noise Levels) Regulations, 1988 (S.I. No. 320 of 1988).

2. European Communities (Construction Plant and Equipment) (Permissible Noise Levels) (Amendment) Regulations, 1990 (S.I. No. 297 of 1990).

148 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if EU Directive 84/538/EEC has been transposed into Irish law; if so, when this took place and the name of the Act or statutory instrument giving effect to it; and if not, the plans, if any, he has for this Directive to be transposed. [3063/94]

Council Directive 84/538, on the approximation of the laws of the member states relating to the permissible sound power level of lawnmowers was transposed into Irish law on 5 May, 1989 by S.I. No. 102 of 1989.

149 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if EU Directive D67/548/EEC has been transposed into Irish law; if so, when this took place and the name of the Act or statutory instrument giving effect to it; and if not, the plans, if any, he has for this Directive to be transposed. EU Directive 67/548/EEC was transposed into Irish law by the European Communities (Dangerous Substances) (Classification, Packaging and Labelling) Regulations, 1979 (S.I. No. 383 of 1979) which came into effect on 30 November, 1979. Notice of the making of these Regulations appeared in the Iris Oifigiúil of 7 December, 1979.

150 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if EU Directive D88/379/EEC has been transposed into Irish law; if so, when this took place and the name of the Act or statutory instrument giving effect to it; and if not, the plans, if any, he has for this Directive to be transposed. EU Directive 88/379/EEC was transposed into Irish law by the European Communities (Classification, Packaging and Labelling of Dangerous Preparations) Regulations, 1992 (S.I. No. 393 of 1992) which came into effect on 31 December 1992. Notice of the making of these Regulations appeared in the Irish Oifigiúil of 18 December 1992.

151 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if EU Directive D76/769/EEC has been transposed into Irish law; if so, when this took place and the name of the Act or statutory instrument giving effect to it; and if not, the plans, if any, he has for this Directive to be transposed. EU Directive 76/769/EEC was transposed into Irish law by the European Communities (Dangerous Substances and Preparations) (Marketing and Use) Regulations, 1979 (S.I. No. 382 of 1979) which came into effect on 30 November 1979. Notice of the making of these Regulations appeared in the Irish Oifigiúil of 7 December 1979.

152 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if EU Directive D82/501/EEC has been transposed into Irish law; if so, when this took place and the name of the Act or statutory instrument giving effect to it; and if not, the plans, if any, he has for this Directive to be transposed. EU Directive 82/501/EEC was transposed into Irish law by the European Communities (Major Accident Hazards of Certain Industrial Activities) Regulations, 1986 (S.I. No. 292 of 1986) which came into effect on 31 September 1986. Notice of the making of these Regulations appeared in the Iris Oifigiúil of 26 August 1986.
