Question:

201 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment when he intends to implement section 35 of the Road Traffic Act, 1994, and when regulations under this section will be introduced. [3356/94]

The provisions of the Road Traffic Act, 1994, are being commenced on a phased basis. Section 35 enables the Minister to make regulations for the general regulation and control of traffic and pedestrians, and will be commenced when the necessary comprehensive regulations have been finalised. The preparation of the regulations has commenced and they will be finalised as soon as possible.
