Vol. 447 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Kilbeg (Cork) Pier Development.

Jim O'Keeffe

Question:

213 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Marine if his attention has been drawn to the need for a slipway to be included as part of the pier development at Kilbeg, Union Hall, Cork; if his attention has been further drawn to the need to have this approved in view of the current state of the overall development; and if approval for the slipway is forthcoming. [3094/94]

I can advise the Deputy that a slipway was included originally in the plan prepared by the Department and agreed with Cork County Council. I understand that this component was subsequently taken out of the plan on foot of local representations and with local agreement so as to accommodate, within the project finance limits, the solid berthing wall which was identified locally as a priority.
