Vol. 447 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Telephone Help Lines.

Ivor Callely

Question:

112 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if he has received any submissions from charitable and voluntary organisations with regard to the high running costs of their telephone help lines; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3530/94]

I have not received representations of the type referred to by the Deputy for some considerable time. The Deputy will, however, be aware that Telecom Éireann, when rebalancing telephone charges, set aside £500,000 to assist a critical number of voluntary organisations to continue to provide services.
