Vol. 447 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Celbridge (Kildare) School.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

121 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education the timetable for the provision of the new girls' secondary school at Celbridge, County Kildare; when each stage will be completed; when the school will be ready for occupation; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3549/94]

Agreement has been reached recently for the purchase of a 12.1 acre site in Celbridge for the development of the new community school. Architectural planning of the project will commence as soon as the design team for the project has been appointed. It is not possible to say when each stage will be completed as many factors relating to the project are outside the control of my Department. However, it is intended that the new school will be available from September 1997 and funding will be provided to meet this timescale.
