5 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Justice if she will make a statement on the present position in relation to the ownership by her Department of Everton House, Old Cabra Road, Dublin 7; the steps, if any, she has taken to dispose of the property or the discussions, if any, she has had in relation to alternative uses; and if she will make a statement on the matter. As the Deputy will be aware, my Department intended to refurbish Everton House to serve as a training and education centre for female offenders in the context of the EU NOW initiative. Following consideration of representations by and on behalf of the local community it was decided not to proceed with this plan. The question of the possible future use of the property is under consideration in my Department.
