Vol. 447 No. 11

Written Answers. - Examination of Appeal.

Noel Ahern

Question:

130 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment if his Department has completed its examination of an appeal lodged 18 months ago by a local authority employee (details supplied) in County Dublin in relation to remuneration and conditions of service; and when a decision will be made. [1356/95]

This appeal relates to an issue which was raised in March 1991 by the union representing the officer concerned with the local authority and agreement was reached between the parties and implemented by the local authority to the satisfaction of the union. Subsequently, in August 1993; an appeal which relates to an aspect of the issue which was not pursued by the union was received. While this has not been formally determined, the issues involved have been the subject of ongoing correspondence between the local authority, the Department and the appellant. A copy of the most recent observations on the case received by the Department from the local authority has been sent to the appellant for any further comments he may wish to make before a final decision is taken on the appeal.
