Byrne asked the Minister for Education whether she intends to give denominational schools the right in law to refuse to enrol pupils on religious grounds; whether this would amount to a change of practice and entitlement for national and voluntary secondary schools; whether consideration has been given to the right of parents, irrespective of their religious persuasion or views, to enrol their children in State-funded schools; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
