Vol. 447 No. 11

Written Answers. - Concerns of Tallaght Principals.

Eric J. Byrne

Question:

174 Mr. E. Byrne asked the Minister for Education if she will give an update on her reply to Parliamentary Question No. 124 of 19 October 1994, regarding her Department's response to concerns raised by Tallaght primary school principals at a meeting with her on 12 July 1994. [1385/95]

My Department has given detailed consideration to the presentations made by groups of schools in the Tallaght and north inner city areas and has been looking at possible models of response to the particular needs which have been identified.

Arrangements have been made for officials of my Department to have a further meeting with representatives of both groups of schools on 25 January 1995. The object of these discussions is to seek agreement on measures which my Department can take and which will be of real practical benefit to the areas in question.
