Vol. 447 No. 11

Written Answers. - Policing Levels in Dublin.

Liam Lawlor

Question:

198 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Justice, in view of law and order problems affecting a school (details supplied) in Dublin 15, if she will request a review of policing levels in the area in order to address these difficulties; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3892/94]

I have received a detailed report from the Garda authorities concerning the school in question. The report shows that there were five criminal incidents at the school since the commencement of the school year on 1 September, 1994.

However, I am informed that following the deployment of the local Crime Prevention Unit in the area in December, no further incidents have occurred. The gardaí will continue to closely monitor the situation and, in this regard, additional gardaí will be deployed on neighbourhood policing duties in the area in question.
