210 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Justice the present position regarding the issuing of certificates of personal fitness in accordance with the provisions of section 5 of the Betting Act, 1931, to a person (details supplied) in County Down; and if she will make a statement on the matter. It would not be appropriate for me to comment publicly on an individual application made under section 5 of the Betting Act, 1931, for a certificate of fitness to hold a bookmaker's licence. I am, however, aware of the circumstances which have given rise to the Deputy's question and I will have regard to them when making my decision on the application.
