Vol. 447 No. 11

Written Answers. - Christmas Bonus.

Mary Harney

Question:

240 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the plans, if any, he has to instruct FÁS to pay the annual Christmas bonus to supervisors on community employment schemes in view of the fact that all other participants in these schemes receive this bonus; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1283/95]

I have no plans to pay a Christmas bonus to supervisors on community employment (CE) projects. Unlike participants on CE, whose allowance structure is along the same lines as that which applies to recipients of social welfare payments, supervisors are paid a salary which will average around £10,500 per supervisor this year.
