Vol. 447 No. 11

Written Answers. - Old Age Pensions.

Noel Ahern

Question:

78 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Finance the annual cost of excluding social welfare contributory old age pensions from income tax for those over the age of 66, 75 and 80. [1351/95]

I am advised by the Revenue Commissioners that income tax statistics do not distinguish between the amounts of tax that arise from pensions and other sources. It is not, therefore, possible to provide the information requested by the Deputy.
