Question:

118 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for the Environment when approval will be given to Drogheda Corporation in respect of the North Bank Interceptor sewer and treatment plant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1040/95]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 115 and 118 together.

My Department has issued approval to the contract documents for the north and south bank sewers contract of the Drogheda main drainage scheme, subject to submission by the local authority of a certificate of completion of planning.
The preliminary report and EIS for the treatment works have been approved, and my Department now awaits the submission of contract documents for this element of the scheme.
