Vol. 449 No. 1

Written Answers. - Abolition of Fees.

Brendan Kenneally

Question:

146 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for Education if fees will be abolished in respect of mature students currently taking degree courses through the Open University, bearing in mind that these students are Irish citizens and their examinations are held in Ireland; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3290/95]

My recent decision on the abolition of fees relates to fees paid by full-time undergraduate students attending publicly funded third level institutions in the Republic of Ireland. I have no plans at present to extend the abolition of fees for other categories of students.
