Written Answers. - Expenditure on Alcohol Trends.
Expenditure on alcohol as a percentage of total household expenditure was estimated at 10.3 per cent in 1980 and 10 per cent in 1987, the latest year for which estimates are available.These estimates are compiled using receipts from excise duties and results of the household budget survey which is conducted every seven years. A further household budget survey is being carried out at present.
