Vol. 449 No. 1

Written Answers. - Dormant Bank Accounts.

Pat Upton

Question:

52 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Finance the amounts of money held in bank accounts belonging to people who have died leaving no relatives. [3029/95]

I have no function in regard to specific moneys held in bank accounts or in relation to the ownership or specific nature of such accounts. The general question of "dormant" bank accounts is the subject of ongoing investigations by my Department.
