Vol. 449 No. 2

Written Answers. - County Enterprise Boards.

Austin Deasy

Question:

24 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if he will alter the structure of county enterprise boards to ensure that members of the Dáil are included on boards relevant to their constituencies. [3185/95]

The composition of county enterprise boards includes persons who are representative of bodies at county level which have the right to make nominations, such as the relevant local authority, the social partners and the relevant State agencies. Dáil Deputies are not precluded from membership of the boards and a number have served or are serving on the boards in such representative capacities. I do not propose to alter the current categories from which CEB members are to be drawn.
