Vol. 449 No. 4

Written Answers - Collins Barracks Playing Pitches.

Joe Costello

Question:

90 Mr. Costello asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the plans, if any, he has for public use of the playing pitches at the former Collins Barracks, Dublin; if they will be made available for use by inner city football clubs; if so, when; the criteria that will be used; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3733/95]

The Deputy will be aware that the Government has decided to develop the Collins Barracks site as a major National Museum facility and a considerable amount of work has been completed on one portion of the site. Plans for the completion of the project will not be finalised until I receive the final report of the interim board of the National Museum, which I expect shortly.
