Vol. 450 No. 2

Written Answers. - Measures for Disabled.

Desmond J. O'Malley

Question:

47 Mr. O'Malley asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform his views on whether some of the measures already identified in the interim report of the Commission on the Status for People with Disabilities should be dealt with immediately rather than awaiting the final conclusions of the Commission. [4875/95]

The Commission on the Status of People with Disabilities have issued no interim report. However, they have issued an update bulletin outlining their work to date. The commission is expected to present its report by the end of this year and the Deputy may rest assured that I will be giving its recommendations very careful consideration with a view to improving the situation of people with disabilities.
