Vol. 450 No. 2

Written Answers. - Passport Information Bureau.

Liam Burke

Question:

54 Mr. L. Burke asked the asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs, in view of developments regarding the upgrading of the Passport Office at the South Mall, Cork, if he will open an information bureau on the north side of the city which would alleviate the new pressures on the main office at the South Mall and provide basic information to those making initial inquiries about passports; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [

The enlarged and upgraded Passport Office at the South Mall, Cork will be capable of providing a full passport service for all the people of Munster.

As a separate development, I am currently looking at other ways of improving the passport service to the public and hope to be in a position to announce details of a new service very shortly.
