Vol. 450 No. 2

Written Answers. - Delay in Serving Summonses.

Tony Gregory

Question:

114 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, in view of a newspaper report (details supplied), if the delay in the serving of summonses in the reported case was the subject of an investigation; if not, if she will have arrangements made for an appropriate investigation in view of the concerns expressed by the judge in the case; if she will have further arrangements made for the investigation of allegations made by a wildlife ranger that a delay occured in bringing proceedings in this case following representations from a politician. [4866/95]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the case in question is due to be heard at Killenaule District Court on 9 March 1995. As the matter is sub judice, the Deputy will appreciate that I am not in a position to make any comment on the case at this stage.
