Vol. 450 No. 6

Written Answers. - Blasket Island Interpretative Centre.

John O'Donoghue

Question:

58 Mr. O'Donoghue asked the Minister for Finance when he will approve the building of landing places at Dún Chaoin, County Kerry, and the Great Blasket Island, County Kerry, to facilitate and enhance the Blasket Island Interpretative Centre; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5338/95]

Pending acquisition of the Great Blasket Island in accordance with the terms of An Blascaod Mór National Historic Park Act, 1989, which is the subject of a High Court challenge at present, any final decisions on the question of providing landing facilities would be premature. The current position is that the options in relation to landing facilities both on the Island and the mainland are being reviewed.
