Vol. 450 No. 8

Written Answers. - Communal Facilities.

Edward Nealon

Question:

102 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for the Environment in connection with the housing scheme built or in the course of being built by St. Attracta's Council of St. Vincent de Paul, if his attention has been drawn to an application for funding for communal facilities and the advantage this would be to the overall development; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5769/95]

I take it that the question relates to housing being provided by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at Ballymote, County Sligo. I recently approved a grant of £264,000 under the voluntary housing capital assistance scheme for a further phase of this project. An application for a grant towards the provision of communal facilities in the project has been received but, having regard to the number of such applications on hands and the limited funds available for the purpose, it is not possible to say at this stage when the application might be approved.
