An application from Salesian secondary school, Pallaskenry, County Limerick for the provision of additional ground floor accommodation is currently under consideration by my Department.

Question:

135 Mr. Collins asked the Minister for Education the present position with regard to the provision of an all-Irish secondary school at Newcastle West, County Limerick. [5836/95]

A post-primary, all-Irish unit, attached to the vocational school in Newcastle West, has been in operation since September 1993.

A joint proposal, submitted by County Limerick Vocational Education Committee and the board of management of the primary Gaelscoil in Newcastle West, to the effect that new accommodation to cater for both primary and post-primary provision through Irish should be provided on one campus, is being considered at present by my Department.
