Question:162 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Justice when a certificate of cesser will be granted at the request of Galway County Council to enable it to sell the pound in Leenane, County Galway. [5902/95]

On 14 December 1994 a letter issued from my Department to the County Registrar in Galway conveying the approval of my predecessor, Deputy Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, to the issue of a certificate of cesser in respect of the pound at Leenane, County Galway, under section 3 (1) of the Pounds (Provision and Maintenance) Act, 1935.
I am informed by the County Registrar for County Galway that he has issued the relevant certificate and that it has been forwarded to Galway County Council.
