Question:

211 Mr. M. Ahern asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will extend the date for submission of area aid application forms in view of the weather conditions which have had an adverse effect on crop cultivation. [6105/95]

The closing date for submission of arable area aid applications is 31 March 1995 and I cannot extend this deadline, Farmers who have not sown their crops at the time of submission of their application forms may sow them up to 15 May and should submit declarations of sowing to my Department by 22 May.

212 Mr. M. Ahern asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will make provisions for farmers to switch from forage application to arable application and new applicants into the area aid scheme for 1995. [6106/95]

EU regulations provide that a person who has submitted an area aid application may change from forage declaration to a claim for arable aid up to 15 May with the exception that a plot may not be added to those declared as setaside.
