Question:

233 Mr. B. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Defence the reason there was a delay in conducting command level interviews for preliminary FCA Officers courses in 1994; and if he intends to ensure that these interviews are completed without further delay. [5890/95]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 232 and 233 together.

I understand that interviews in the Southern Command in connection with the selection of personnel to undergo the FCA Preliminary Officers' Course in 1994 commenced on 24 April 1994 and that all units were advised of the outcome on 14 June 1994, over a month before the course was due to commence.
