Vol. 450 No. 8

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

Máire Geoghegan-Quinn

Question:

41 Mrs. Geoghegan-Quinn asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the role, functions, powers and job descriptions of all programme managers appointed to his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4190/95]

Michael Woods

Question:

176 Dr. Woods asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the number of programme managers who have been appointed to his Department; and the number of these appointees who are women. [4312/95]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 41 and 176 together.

I have appointed one programme manager. His main responsibilities relate to the implementation of the programme A Government of Renewal and assisting and advising me in my ministerial responsibilities. This entails regular contact with Department officials and with programme managers in other Departments. He also undertakes such other functions and tasks as I may assign to him from time to time.
The Minister of State at my Department does not have a programme manager.
